The Penang Hill Railway existing funicular train makes its final run on the 87-year-old track. After 21st Feb 2010, the system will stop for a RM63 million upgrading project. The upgrading of the Penang Hill Railway will take seven months. When completed, the new trains will take visitors up Penang Hill non stop, unlike the present system where visitors have to change trains at the middle station.

DESPITE the shutdown of the Penang Hill funicular train service up to the hill, tourists and locals wishing to admire the magnificent views of the island from atop can still do so by taking 4WD rides to the peak.  Drive is pleasant & takes approximately 20 mins for one way trip.

Had a wonderful & memorable trip to Hong Kong with kids during the 1 week school break in March… Spent 3 Nights, 4 days ( pretty packed with so many places to go  – 4 nights , 5 days will be ideal ) & the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The kids obviously love Hong Kong DisneyLand & Ocean Park. Lots of fun rides,  worldclass shows , & favorite cartoon parades & spectacular fireworks, cable car rides & souvenirs etc…

Adults love the FOOD & needless to say ” Shopping “  – spoilt with choices  & good bargain.  Climatically, the air is cool ( 18 to 20C)  & not humid !  Going places are very convenient due to the efficient MTR System…

Places visited :  HongKong Disney Land ;  Ocean Park ; Temple Street Night Market ;  The Peak ; Victoria Habour ; Night Markets for best bargains.
